Ryan Gates, 30, of Barnstead, has been arrested on multiple felony charges following the theft of a GMC pickup truck from Chichester and several police chases across New Hampshire.

The stolen vehicle was first reported on June 19, when the Lee Police Department alerted neighboring agencies to be on the lookout. The following day, a Concord Police officer spotted the truck on Loudon Road and attempted a traffic stop, but Gates fled. Pursuit was halted due to safety concerns. State troopers later spotted the truck on Interstate 93 but lost track of it near Interstate 89.

Authorities say another chase occurred in Farmington before the truck was found abandoned on June 21. Gates was located and arrested Tuesday in Barnstead while riding a bicycle. The Rochester Police Department had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Gates now faces charges including receiving stolen property, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, operating as a habitual offender, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, falsifying physical evidence, disobeying an officer, and reckless operation. He remains held at Merrimack County House of Corrections pending arraignment at Concord District Court.
