A Bowling Green woman lost her life in a fatal crash on Lovers Lane, and the driver responsible has been sentenced to over two decades in prison.
Ryan Bagwell, 32, of White House, Tennessee, was sentenced on February 24 to 23 years in prison following a crash on July 24, 2024, that claimed the life of 40-year-old Ashley C. Porter.
According to court records, Bagwell was traveling north on Lovers Lane when he crossed into Porter’s lane, colliding with her vehicle just before 6:15 a.m..
Bagwell pleaded guilty in January 2025 to multiple charges, including:
Vehicular homicide while under the influence
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence (fourth or greater offense)
First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
Tampering with physical evidence
Several charges were dismissed, including drug paraphernalia, various degrees of drug trafficking, criminal mischief, and possession of marijuana. His original murder charge was amended to vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol.
Bagwell remains in custody at the Warren County Regional Jail.
