COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A man was taken into custody nearly a month after fleeing from law enforcement, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
On February 20, officers attempted to stop 20-year-old Rusty Jacob Joslin in connection with a motor vehicle theft. However, Joslin quickly fled the scene in his vehicle, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
The entire incident, including Joslin’s reckless driving, was captured by the Colorado State Patrol air unit. Due to the danger posed to the public, law enforcement decided not to pursue him further at the time.
On Wednesday, Joslin was spotted in the 4200 block of Hammock Drive North and was arrested without incident. During the arrest, police discovered that Joslin was in possession of a loaded Baer Custom TR Special .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun.
Joslin has been charged with motor vehicle theft, felony eluding, and possession of a concealed handgun. He is currently being held at the Criminal Justice Center.
