Russell Gibson Indicted for Gun and Cocaine Possession

Albany man faces 15 years for ghost gun, drug charges

Albany, NY – A 30-year-old Albany man, Russell Gibson, has been indicted for the illegal possession of a ghost gun and crack cocaine, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Gibson was arraigned Monday on a multi-count indictment charging him with:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Intent to Sell)

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

The charges stem from an April 22 search warrant executed by Albany Police at a First Street residence, part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Inside the property, police reportedly found:

A 9mm ghost gun with a high-capacity magazine holding 22 rounds

A quantity of crack cocaine

A digital scale and drug distribution paraphernalia

Gibson pleaded not guilty and is currently remanded to Albany County Jail. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 15 years in state prison.

Authorities continue to investigate the source of the illegal firearm and potential trafficking connections.
