Just days after the Solistic Sky Spa racket in Sakinaka was exposed, MIDC Police have busted another prostitution ring—this time at Blue Moon Spa in Andheri’s Gaondevi Marol area.
The spa’s owner, Rukaiya Anis Ahmed Shaikh, has been arrested and remanded to police custody, while two associates, Yashaswi Sanjay Singh and Vishal Laxmi Munda, remain absconding. Police are actively hunting for the duo.
The crackdown followed a tip-off indicating the spa was offering prostitution services under the pretense of massage therapy. A decoy customer was sent to confirm the allegations. After verifying the claims, a police raid was carried out, during which four women were rescued.
Investigations revealed that the spa was operating as a front for sex work, with management coercing women to provide ‘additional services’ to clients. The earnings were reportedly split, with a larger share retained by the spa’s management, exposing a clear case of sexual exploitation.
Following the rescue, the women were sent for medical examination and rehabilitation, while a case was registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
This is the second spa-related sex racket to be busted in the Andheri-Sakinaka belt within a week, highlighting the growing abuse of wellness centres for illegal activities. Authorities have intensified surveillance on other such establishments.
