MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WTNH) — A Florida man, Ruben Delacruz Diaz, 24, was arrested in Alabama over the weekend after authorities seized a significant amount of cocaine during a drug trafficking investigation.
The operation, conducted by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, April 13, led to the discovery of two kilograms of cocaine concealed in Diaz’s vehicle. The seizure took place in Hartselle, Alabama. Diaz, from Labelle, Florida, was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine.
Although details on why Diaz was specifically targeted during the operation remain unclear, authorities confirmed the substantial quantity of cocaine found. Diaz has been booked into the Morgan County Jail with a bond set at $250,000.
In addition to the drug trafficking charge, an ICE detainer has been placed on Diaz while his immigration status is verified.
