RPF Arrests Amit & Nitish with 7.94 Kg Cannabis at Agartala Station

Two drug peddlers caught with cannabis worth Rs1.5 lakh at Agartala Railway Station

In a targeted operation following a tip-off from the Government Railway Police (GRP), the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a secret raid at Agartala Railway Station on the night of Sunday, August 10, 2025.

During the operation, two drug peddlers were apprehended with a total of 7.940 kilograms of dry cannabis, valued at approximately Rs1.5 lakh. The suspects intended to transport the contraband to another state via train from Agartala.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Amit (35), son of Rakesh Kumar from Tundla, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Nitish Kumar (30), son of Valam Roy from Vaishali, Bihar.

A case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Agartala GRPS, and further investigations are ongoing.
