Ross Allen Lee Arrested Near Idaho School Lockdown

Man accused of pointing shotgun at students faces charges

Ross Allen Lee, 63, was arrested after allegedly pointing a shotgun near Mountain Home High School, triggering a lockdown of multiple schools in the area.

According to the Mountain Home Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:07 p.m. near the intersection of South 10th East and East 4th South. Schools in the vicinity were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Lee was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Elmore County Jail. He faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of animal cruelty. No injuries were reported.

During the response, an officer experienced an accidental discharge of a service weapon inside an Idaho State Police patrol vehicle. No one was hurt. The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, while Idaho State Police is conducting an internal review.

Authorities say the investigation into the assault remains ongoing. A preliminary hearing for Lee is scheduled for March 27, 2026.
