Tomé, NM – A Valencia County woman, 55-year-old Rosie Marie Padilla, was arrested as part of a joint narcotics investigation by the Pueblo of Isleta Police Department. Authorities believe Padilla was trafficking various illegal drugs, including Fentanyl and methamphetamine, from her residence near Valencia High School.
The operation, which began with a six-month-long investigation, culminated in a coordinated search at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Officers from the Isleta Police Department and the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant at Padilla’s home on the 80 block of Bonita Vista Boulevard.
During the search, authorities seized a large quantity of illegal substances and materials, including:
3,126 blue pills stamped “M-30” consistent with Fentanyl
4 pounds of methamphetamine
206.99 grams of cocaine
165 strips of Suboxone
1,784 pills marked “MK65,” consistent with Oxycodone
Several safes with large amounts of cash and a handgun
Packaging materials indicative of drug sales
Padilla was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Valencia County Detention Center on charges of trafficking and distributing controlled substances. Court records show that Magistrate Miles Tafoya issued a no-bond hold for Padilla.
Isleta Police Chief Victor Rodriguez emphasized the department’s commitment to combating drug trafficking in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. Valencia County Sheriff Denise Vigil added that the operation’s success is a result of strong interagency teamwork to remove dangerous substances from the community.
