The Crime Branch Unit 4 of Thane Police has arrested Roshan Bala Jadhav (34), a habitual burglar, in connection with eight house break-ins across Badlapur and Shivaji Nagar jurisdictions. Jadhav, a resident of Nilje Gaon in Dombivli, had been under surveillance after a recent burglary case was reported on July 1 at Badlapur Police Station.
Acting on intelligence, police traced Jadhav to Ulhasnagar Road, where he was spotted loitering suspiciously near a closed company. Officers set a trap and successfully apprehended him on July 3. A search at his residence revealed stolen property worth Rs19 lakh, including:
189.17 grams of gold ornaments (Rs15 lakh)
Silver worth Rs10,000
Two laptops (Rs50,000)
Two mobile phones
Cash totaling Rs3.28 lakh
Jadhav admitted during questioning that he targeted flats on higher floors, assuming they were less monitored. He used specialized tools to break open doors during the day while residents were away.
DCP Amarsingh Jadhav of Thane Crime Branch confirmed that seven cases were registered at Badlapur West and one at Shivaji Nagar Police Station. The suspect has been remanded to police custody as investigations continue.
