(KRON) – A Livermore man was arrested Thursday after allegedly robbing a Chase Bank in Walnut Creek, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., dispatch received reports of a robbery at the Chase Bank located on Main Street. Officers responded quickly and learned that the suspect had passed a note to a bank teller demanding money.
The suspect, later identified as 54-year-old Ronald Lane, received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a vehicle. Police confirmed that Lane did not display or use a weapon during the incident.
At 1:07 p.m., just over 30 minutes after the robbery, officers located Lane’s vehicle on Olympic Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, police recovered the stolen cash from inside the car. Lane was arrested on the spot and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
Authorities credited the Chase Bank staff for their prompt reporting and detailed descriptions, which helped lead to Lane’s swift arrest.
