Rome Man Arrested in Sylvan Beach Traffic Stop for Meth Possession

Joshua Gillett faces multiple charges after deputies discover methamphetamine

Joshua Gillett, 26, was arrested following a traffic stop in the Village of Sylvan Beach, New York.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies stopped a vehicle on Pioneer Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. on March 21. Methamphetamine was discovered in Gillett’s possession during the stop.

Gillett was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation, and multiple other traffic violations. He was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
