Philadelphia, PA – A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the homicide of Joshua Daywalt, whose body was found floating in the Schuylkill River in early February.

Philadelphia police said they responded to Kelly Drive and Midvale Avenue around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, February 7, after a passerby spotted a body in the river.

The victim, 35-year-old Joshua Daywalt, also known as Michael Hall, was pronounced dead at the scene. A medical examination revealed he had been shot behind the right ear and had a graze wound to the back of his head. His death was ruled a homicide.

Daywalt, originally from Phoenixville, was unhoused and known to frequent the Manayunk area near the Green Lane Bridge.

After a two-month investigation, police arrested Roger Rosson, 61, on Thursday, April 29, and charged him with murder. Authorities said Rosson is also believed to be unhoused.
