Rochester, MN – A 31-year-old Rochester man, Timmothy Johnson, has been arrested for failing to comply with predatory offender registration requirements.
Johnson faces two felony charges for knowingly failing to fulfill his legal obligation to report his primary and secondary residence to law enforcement. He was previously convicted of groping a minor more than 10 times, serving a 45-day sentence and receiving 25 years of probation—with a potential three-year prison term if he violated the conditions.
Failure to Report Residence
On March 24, Investigator Sergeant Jesse Grabau from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from a Spring Valley childcare provider, concerned that Johnson might be living next door to her in-home daycare—just blocks away from local schools.
A homeowner confirmed that Johnson had been staying there about 50% of the time, including a full week prior to his arrest. However, Johnson claimed he was only visiting and officially lived at his mother’s house in Rochester.
If convicted, Johnson faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
