NORWALK, CT (WFSB) — A Westport man has been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately $86,000 worth of construction equipment from a job site in Norwalk.
Robert Pekar, 38, was identified as the suspect in the case, which involved equipment stolen from a site near 677 Connecticut Avenue back in May.
According to Norwalk police, the investigation was a coordinated effort involving assistance from the Monroe Police Department. Detective Taylor developed Pekar as a suspect during the investigation, ultimately leading to his arrest on Friday.
Pekar is facing charges of:
First-degree larceny
Larceny of a motor vehicle
He was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.
Authorities have not released further details on whether the stolen equipment has been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
