NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A solemn space for remembrance became the scene of a disturbing crime when Robert Natale, 45, and Krista Natale, 44, of East Haven, were arrested for allegedly stealing items from a gravesite at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
According to the North Haven Police Department, the couple is accused of taking personal and sentimental belongings left on a headstone belonging to an unrelated individual. The theft deeply impacted the grieving family and community.
“This is not just theft,” police said in a statement. “It’s a violation of a sacred space meant for mourning, reflection, and respect.”
Police credited the family’s assistance in helping to secure warrants for the Natales’ arrest. Authorities emphasized the emotional toll the incident has taken on the victims.
Both individuals were taken into custody on warrant-based arrests and face charges related to the incident.
