Robert D. Valdez Arrested in Coryell Check Forgery Case

Multiple charges filed in ongoing Coryell fraud probe

CORYELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) – The Coryell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Robert D. Valdez, a 31-year-old Temple resident, in connection with an ongoing check forgery investigation.

Valdez faces several felony charges, including forgery of a check, theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, and money laundering. According to officials, he is one of several suspects involved in a larger criminal operation currently under investigation.

The case is being handled by a coalition of agencies, including the Coryell County Attorney’s Office, Coryell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

“This arrest reflects our commitment to aggressively pursue individuals who exploit and defraud Coryell County citizens,” said Sheriff Williams. “We thank all of our partner agencies for their ongoing cooperation and dedication to bringing justice to our community.”

The investigation remains active, with more arrests possible as authorities continue to follow leads.
