Hopkinsville, Ky. — A 50-year-old man, Robert Bibbs, has been arrested and charged with robbery and assault following an incident at a gas station on East 9th Street.
According to Hopkinsville Police, Bibbs took a woman’s phone and tossed it into a nearby field. He then pushed her to the ground and took the phone again. The situation escalated the following day when the woman attempted to get her phone back from Bibbs. During the confrontation, police say Bibbs hit her with a handgun, causing her to break a tooth and injure her lips.
Bibbs was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. The incident remains under investigation.
