by Amelia Crawford

ABILENE, Texas — Police arrested 40-year-old Cody Wray Isenberg Monday afternoon following two attempted robberies in the 3400 block of South 14th Street and a nearby bank.

Officers responded to a reported robbery in progress at a local business. Isenberg fled the scene without obtaining any money but shortly after entered a nearby bank where he demanded cash from tellers.

A patrol officer, already in the area from the initial call, encountered Isenberg as he was trying to leave the bank with stolen money and detained him.

Isenberg was questioned and subsequently arrested on charges of second-degree felony robbery. He was booked into Taylor County Jail.

This marks the second bank robbery reported in Abilene in the past two weeks. Authorities are actively investigating whether the incidents are connected.

The investigation remains ongoing.
