Riverview Man Charged with Murder Following Overdose Deaths of Couple

HCSO Investigates Fatal Overdoses; Drug Dealer Arrested After 6-Month Probe

by Sophia Bennett

A Riverview man has been charged with murder in connection with the overdose deaths of a couple found dead inside their residence on July 6, 2024. The victims, identified as 41-year-old William Jackson and 36-year-old Amanda Stephens, were discovered at their home near the 800 block of Richmond Street in Gibsonton.

After a six-month investigation, detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) identified 36-year-old Ramero Randolph as the source of the drugs responsible for their deaths. Randolph was arrested on January 9, 2025, and charged with two counts of First Degree Murder Resulting from the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, a capital felony charge.

Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized that drug dealers profiting from addiction that leads to death will face severe consequences, stating, “Thanks to the hard work of our detectives, another drug dealer is off the streets after causing tragic and preventable deaths.”

Randolph faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted, although a conviction for unintentional drug-related death could result in a life sentence.

HCSO continues to investigate, and any further information on the case will be released by their Public Affairs Office.
