Jugsalai, East Singhbhum: In a swift response, local police apprehended a thief within 24 hours of a burglary involving gold and diamond ornaments valued at approximately ₹1 crore. The incident took place at a locked residence on M E School Road, within the jurisdiction of the Jugsalai police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police (East Singhbhum), Piyush Pandey, assigned the task of catching the culprit to the Deputy SP and his team. Investigators quickly gathered critical evidence, including CCTV footage, and deployed the dog squad to track the suspect.
The combined efforts of the team led to the arrest of 23-year-old Ritik Kumar Singh, who later confessed to the crime. Police confirmed that a total of 43 stolen items, including a wide range of gold and diamond jewelry, were successfully recovered.
During a press conference, officials praised the quick and coordinated action of the police team, highlighting the effectiveness of modern investigative tools and rapid response strategies. Further investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused had any accomplices.
