The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, in coordination with SR Nagar Police, arrested Rinita Raita (30), a farmer and sub-peddler, for possession of a large quantity of dry ganja. Authorities seized 11.4 kilograms of the narcotic substance, valued at approximately Rs 5.7 lakh.
Police investigations revealed that Rinita hails from Kesariguda, Antaraba Post, Gajapati District, Odisha. She, along with her cousin brother Maniel Dalabehera, had been selling ganja to customers in Hyderabad.
Md Iqbal Siddique, Additional DCP Task Force, emphasized the dangers of drug abuse, warning young individuals against the lure of quick money and substance use. He highlighted that involvement in drugs can lead to loss of employment, health issues, criminal records, and long-term consequences.
The case is currently under investigation to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the drug network.
