Clay County authorities have arrested a West Virginia man in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Maysel.
Richard Grad, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Savannah Keaton of Massillon, Ohio, according to the West Virginia State Police. Troopers responded to a reported shooting Thursday at a home in the Maysel area, where they found Keaton dead from a gunshot wound.
Grad reportedly left the scene before officers arrived but later met investigators at an alternate location, where he was taken into custody.
A criminal complaint states that a local gas station employee reported Grad had stopped in and allegedly confessed to the shooting. Grad told authorities he and Keaton had a verbal argument, during which he grabbed a shotgun and fatally shot her.
