Greenfield, N.Y. — A Greenfield man has been arrested following an animal cruelty investigation, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Doyle, 30, was taken into custody after a complaint filed on December 24, 2025, regarding an incident on South Greenfield Road. Doyle faces charges of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, and failure to provide proper sustenance, all classified as Class A misdemeanors.

Authorities reported that Doyle allegedly failed to provide adequate care to a pit bull, which later died. Four additional pit bulls were found at his residence and were surrendered to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

Doyle was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Greenfield Town Court at a later date.
