LAKELAND, Fla. — Siblings Rhonda Lee Woodsby-Alderman, 41, and James Lee Alderman, 43, were arrested by Polk County deputies after Woodsby-Alderman was found hiding inside a Rustic Court home to avoid arrest on active warrants.
Deputies came to the residence to serve warrants related to Woodsby-Alderman’s violation of probation for petit theft but initially received no response at the door. When James Alderman arrived, deputies explained the situation. He went inside and later told officers that his sister was not home.
However, deputies searched the house and found Woodsby-Alderman concealed in a bedroom. She admitted that her brother knew she was inside and had communicated with her before he returned to speak with deputies.
Both were arrested and charged with resisting an officer. Woodsby-Alderman was also taken into custody on her outstanding warrants.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office noted both have prior criminal records. Woodsby-Alderman’s history includes DWLSR, tormenting an animal, false ID to law enforcement, and drug possession. James Alderman has prior charges for battery, motor vehicle theft, burglary, grand theft, and controlled substance possession.
