A retired BSNL employee, Satish Kumar K M (69), has been arrested for attempted homicide after allegedly ramming his car into his neighbor’s motorcycle during a long-standing dispute. The incident took place on March 13, 2025, around 8:15 am, on the 6th Main Road in Bijai Kapikad.

Satish Kumar, a resident of Kirodian Road, Kapikad, Bejai, is accused of deliberately targeting his neighbor, Murali Prasad, while he was riding his motorcycle (KA-19-Y-5145). Police allege that Satish Kumar, in a premeditated act, drove his car (KA-19-P-2570) at high speed with the intent to kill Murali. After the collision, Satish Kumar’s car also struck a pedestrian woman, causing her to suffer bleeding injuries.

Murali Prasad sustained injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment. The accused has been taken into custody, and his vehicle has been seized by the authorities. This isn’t the first time Satish Kumar has been involved in a dispute with Murali Prasad’s family, as he was previously booked in 2023 by the Urwa police for verbally abusing and intentionally colliding with Murali’s father while riding a bike.

The police have registered a case of attempted homicide at the Urwa police station. Additionally, a separate case has been filed at the Mangaluru Traffic West police station for negligent driving and causing injury to the pedestrian. Satish Kumar was presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigations into the case are ongoing.
