REIDSVILLE, NC – A joint investigation between the Invictus Task Force and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of 69-year-old Daniel Ervin West on April 2, 2025, following serious charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation was initiated after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which provided law enforcement with crucial information. Acting on the tip, officers executed a search warrant at West’s residence located at 2218 Lick Fork Creek Road in Reidsville, North Carolina.
As a result of the search, West was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He was transported to the Rockingham County Detention Center, where a magistrate issued a $100,000 secured bond. West is scheduled to make his first appearance in Rockingham County District Court.
Authorities have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and are encouraging anyone with additional information to contact the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office or the HSI Task Force.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office expressed deep appreciation to the HSI Task Force and the Invictus Task Force for their instrumental roles in the operation, which was crucial in ensuring the safety of the community and holding West accountable for his actions.
