Rebecca Yates, 33, Charged in Pensacola Gas Station Shooting

Yates allegedly fired at owner before shooting herself

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman accused of opening fire on a Pensacola gas station owner before attempting to take her own life is now facing multiple charges.

Rebecca Yates, 33, was booked into the Escambia County Jail on January 25, following months of hospitalization. Authorities say the incident occurred in August 2023 when Yates allegedly fired three shots at the business owner before shooting herself in the head.

Yates is now charged with:

Attempted homicide
Weapon offense – missile into a building
Firing a weapon in public
Damaging property
She is currently being held on a $120,000 bond.
