On May 1, Lakadganj police arrested a 35-year-old man, Ravindra Yede, after they found him in possession of a dangerous weapon. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol near the Ganga Jamuna area.
At approximately 2:25 PM, the police received a tip about a suspicious individual wandering the area with a weapon. Acting quickly, the patrol team responded to the tip and located the suspect. Upon noticing the officers, Yede attempted to flee, but was apprehended after a brief chase.
A search was conducted in the presence of witnesses, and the police found a sharp iron knife, commonly known as an elephant-killing knife, hidden in the waistband of Yede’s trousers. The weapon, estimated to be worth around Rs 300, was immediately confiscated.
Police sources indicated that Yede was likely carrying the weapon with the intention of committing a serious crime. He was taken into custody, and further investigations are currently ongoing.
