In a swift crackdown, police arrested five history-sheeters involved in a burglary that took place at the residence of a Bahadurpur villager, Shashi Shekhar, during the night of August 27–28.
Bokaro Superintendent of Police Harvinder Singh said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed immediately after the complaint. Using a mix of technical surveillance and local informants, the team tracked the accused to hideouts in Kasmar and Jaridih police station areas.

All are residents of Ramgarh district—four from Kothar, and one (Abhay) from Chhatarpur.
Police seized a large quantity of stolen goods, including:
Gold and silver ornaments
Around Rs4,500 in cash
Tools used in burglary
A car used during the crime
All five are known history-sheeters, according to SP Singh, and are being interrogated for links to other recent thefts in the region.
