LAREDO, Tex. – A man who reported a stolen tractor-trailer on Tuesday was arrested after police discovered he had an active warrant for a previous vehicle theft.
Raul Guajardo-Aguilar, 33, reported the tractor-trailer missing around 9 a.m. on November 12 near the 100 block of North America Road off Mines Road. During the investigation, officers learned Guajardo-Aguilar had an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle related to a February 15 incident at the 8400 block of El Gato Road involving a 2019 blue International tractor.
Guajardo-Aguilar was arrested on Wednesday and issued a $15,000 bond, which he posted the same day.
This is not Guajardo-Aguilar’s first brush with the law. He has three prior arrests, including LPD charges in 2013 for giving false information, and in 2014 for first-degree felony theft of property over $200,000, engaging in criminal activity, and third-degree felony tampering with evidence. The DEA also arrested him in 2023 for a federal violation.
Following his 2014 arrest, Guajardo-Aguilar participated in a two-year pretrial diversion program that included 300 hours of community service, an anti-theft class, and speaking engagements at Laredo’s LARA Academy. Upon completing the program in August 2017, his charges were dismissed.
Police continue to investigate the current case.
