Delhi Police have arrested two alleged members of the infamous Chhenu gang in the national capital after a tip-off regarding a planned crime near Guru Gobind Singh Hospital.
The accused were identified as Rashid alias Sonu and Fahim alias Danny, both residents of Trilokpuri. Rashid was reportedly wanted in a cash and jewellery burglary case in Rajasthan.
On the night of March 5–6, police intercepted a car with a Jammu and Kashmir registration near the hospital. The two occupants attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief scuffle, according to DCP (Crime) Harsh Indora.
During interrogation, both accused admitted that they had hidden firearms in the car and were scouting for a target in the area. Authorities recovered two loaded pistols, six live cartridges, and seized the car.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigations are underway to determine additional gang activities and accomplices.
