KURIGRAM, July 3, 2025 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of the Kurigram District Police has arrested Rashedul Islam, the former political private secretary (PS) to ex-State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain.
Rashedul Islam, 45, was detained from the PTI area of Kurigram town based on secret intelligence, according to DB officials. He hails from the Mondalpara area in Roumari upazila and is also reported to be a cousin of the former state minister.
Md Bozlar Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of the Detective Branch, confirmed the arrest and stated that Rashedul had been involved in multiple criminal and terrorist activities during what authorities referred to as “the fascist regime.”
Further legal proceedings are expected following the interrogation and investigation.
