CHICAGO — A Chicago man has been arrested in connection with a December 2023 DUI crash in Humboldt Park that left a woman critically injured.

Rasean Cummins, 28, faces two felony charges: aggravated driving under the influence and aggravated reckless driving, Chicago police confirmed Wednesday.

Authorities say Cummins was driving while intoxicated on December 9, 2023, when he struck a 25-year-old woman’s vehicle in the 3400 block of West Division Street. Following the crash, Cummins allegedly fled the scene.

After months of investigation, he was arrested on April 24 in the 1300 block of South Komensky Avenue in Lawndale. Cummins is scheduled for a detention hearing Friday.

The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
