The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru, has uncovered a drug racket and arrested a 33-year-old dental college student in a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics.
The accused, Ranjith Antony Mathew, was found in possession of 300 grams of hydro ganja, a high-potency strain of cannabis, valued at approximately Rs32 lakh. He was residing in an apartment in Lakkasandra, from where he allegedly operated his drug distribution network.
According to investigators, Mathew sourced the drugs from his contacts using courier services and then sold them to local customers. His activities came under the radar of the CCB’s Anti-Narcotics Wing, leading to his arrest on Friday.
Authorities are continuing investigations to trace the larger network possibly linked to interstate or international suppliers.
