The Delhi Police have successfully apprehended Ranjan Paswan, a fugitive accused of masterminding a large-scale railway job scam that deceived numerous job aspirants of over Rs 1 crore. Paswan was captured at Tilak Bridge Railway Station after months of evading authorities.
According to the police, Paswan had been involved in an extensive fraudulent scheme where he promised job placements in Indian Railways to aspiring candidates, collecting significant sums of money in return. Despite his efforts to stay off the radar, he was finally caught after being declared a proclaimed offender by the court on January 14.
Paswan, a resident of Mayur Vihar, had been on the run for several months. He was wanted in several cheating cases, with FIRs filed against him at both the Sunlight Colony and Pandav Nagar police stations.
