by Sophia Bennett

Alfred resident Randy Marcotte, 64, was arrested following a violent incident at the 7 Jackson’s Corner Store in Lyman on Saturday. Authorities say Marcotte was involved in altercations with multiple patrons at the store.

According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses reported that Marcotte chased people inside and outside the store using a hockey stick and his pickup truck.

Marcotte was later apprehended during a traffic stop, where police discovered several weapons that violated his bail conditions. A search of his vehicle uncovered two knives, a makeshift club, a hatchet, and a set of nunchucks.

He is now charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, violating bail terms, and driving to endanger. Marcotte is expected to appear in court on Monday.
