As part of a major crackdown on illegal immigration consultancies, Ludhiana district police arrested five alleged fraudulent travel agents and registered six cases on Monday. The drive, targeting Zone III of the Ludhiana commissionerate, involved inspections of 48 offices operating under Divisions Number 5, Number 8, and Model Town police stations.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Ramandeep Singh Bhullar, who led the operation, stated that 25 offices were inspected under Division Number 5, 12 under Division Number 8, and 11 in Model Town. Following document verification, six travel agencies were found operating without valid licenses, leading to five arrests.
🔹 Sukhwinder Singh of New Ashok Nagar, Salem Tabri, was arrested for running an unlicensed ACME Visa Solutions sub-branch in Sarabha Nagar Market. He was charged under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immigration Act.
🔹 Karan Kumar of Kuldeep Nagar, Jodhewal, was also arrested for operating Garv Holidays Tours without authorization near Feroze Gandhi Market.
🔹 Gautam Handa of Tagoe Nagar was booked for managing Holiday Quest near Bhai Bala Chowk illegally, facing charges related to cheating and immigration fraud.
🔹 Jasveer Singh of Garah village (Phillaur) was arrested for operating SMR Immigration near Ishmeet Chowk without a license.
🔹 Mandeep Singh Batra of Model Town Extension was detained for managing Dreamcan Immigration Consultancy in the Tuition Market illegally.
🔹 A sixth case was filed against unidentified individuals running EDAD’s PTE-IELTS Centre in Rara Market without valid documentation.
