Ralph Trilokie Charged in Markham Shooting

51-year-old faces attempted murder charge

MARKHAM, Ontario — A 51-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired at a vehicle in Markham last week, according to York Regional Police.

Police say they responded to reports of gunfire on the afternoon of October 1 near Pringle Avenue and Wooten Way, close to Highway 7 and Ninth Line.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing two vehicles speeding away. When officers arrived, they found shell casings on the roadway, but no victims were located.

Investigators reviewed security footage, which allegedly showed a person in one vehicle firing at another vehicle.

Earlier this week, police identified the suspect as Ralph Richard Trilokie, 51, of Markham. He has been charged with:

Attempted murder

Discharging a firearm with intent

Possession of a firearm while prohibited

Dangerous operation of a vehicle

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information or video footage to contact York Regional Police or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
