In a continued effort to curb drug trafficking, Chandigarh Police arrested two individuals, including a woman, in separate incidents over the past 24 hours, seizing a total of 114 grams of heroin.

The first arrest occurred on Tuesday night when a district crime cell team was patrolling the dividing road between Sectors 63 and 50.

Officers noticed a woman behaving suspiciously and attempting to flee. She was intercepted and later identified as Rajwant Kaur, a resident of Sector 63. Upon checking, police recovered 104 grams of heroin from her possession.

She was taken into custody and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

In a separate operation, the Maloya Police arrested a man named Raman, also known by his alias ‘Samosa’, near RC-1 School in the EWS colony.

Though the exact quantity recovered in his case wasn’t disclosed immediately, it was confirmed that the two arrests collectively led to the seizure of 114 grams of heroin.

Police Crackdown Ongoing

Chandigarh Police said both arrests are part of an intensified anti-narcotics drive targeting street-level drug peddlers. Investigations are ongoing to identify possible suppliers and wider networks.
