In a major breakthrough, Haryana Police have busted a notorious gang involved in stealing agricultural equipment from farms and field huts across the Kaithal district. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff arrested three accused, identified as Rajpal, Sonu, and Roshan, and recovered a large cache of stolen items and two vehicles used in their operations.
The police recovered:
Two vehicles
Submersible motor fan
Chain pulley
Two iron pipe bends
70 kg rubber-coated copper wire
12 broken starters
Five small cylinders
Other agricultural iron tools
These arrests have led to the solving of 57 theft cases that were reported across Pundri, Titram, Sadar, Kalayat, and Dhand police stations in Kaithal.
DSP Sushil Prakash, briefing the media, revealed that the investigation began after a complaint from Sandeep of Kailram on March 9, who reported that thieves had broken into his field hut and stolen vital equipment, including 150 feet of copper wire and a motor fan.
Following a tip-off, the police arrested Rajpal and Sonu on March 11 from Khurana Road, Kaithal, and obtained a three-day police remand. During interrogation, the duo disclosed information leading to the arrest of their third associate, Roshan, a resident of Faral.
Police say the gang primarily targeted unguarded agricultural properties at night and sold the stolen equipment for quick profits.
Further investigation is underway to determine if the group is connected to similar rural crimes in neighboring areas.
