Two youths from Rajgarh were arrested recently after police recovered 75 stolen mobile phones valued at Rs 7 lakh. The prime suspect, businessman Jitendra Vaswani from Indore’s Dollar Market, remains on the run.
According to Jiwajiganj TI Vivek Kanodia, the police are pursuing technical leads in multiple mobile theft cases. Based on the investigation, 20-year-old Ratnesh Tanwar from Rajgarh was taken into custody. During his interrogation, several stolen phones were found in his possession. It was revealed that he obtained these phones from Irshad Khan Mansuri, who runs Fukran Telecom in Rajgarh.
Police detained Irshad, who confessed to buying stolen mobiles from Jitendra Vaswani. While authorities recovered the stolen devices from the two Rajgarh youths, a search conducted at Vaswani’s locations in Indore came up empty as he had already fled.
Kanodia stated that multiple searches were carried out at Vaswani’s known premises, but he remained elusive. The Indore Crime Branch had previously raided his shop and seized stolen mobiles from one of his employees, but Vaswani had also absconded then. The police continue to search for the businessman.
