In a significant drug bust, Rajasthan Police arrested Azam Khan (45), a resident of Thana Kharakuan in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and seized 149.54 grams of MDMA, valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. The arrest was made during a smuggling operation on Chupna-Kotdi Road near Jambukheda Phanta on Monday night.
According to SP Vineet Kumar Bansal, a police checkpoint was established in the area, where a suspicious car, traveling from Chupna Mowai Road, was flagged. When the driver, Azam Khan, noticed the police, he abruptly stopped and tried to flee. Police officers, led by SHO Arun Khant, pursued the vehicle and managed to stop it. A search of the car and its driver led to the recovery of the MDMA drugs hidden in a bag.
The MDMA was seized, along with the car used in the smuggling attempt. Khan was arrested, and a case was filed at Kotdi Police Station. Police are currently interrogating the suspect to uncover details about the drug’s origin and distribution.
This operation was carried out by SHO Arun Khant, ASI Ganpat Lal, and other officers, including Head Constable Hari, Constables Kalu Singh, Kanhaiya Lal, Prakash, and Ghanshyam.
