A Rajasthan resident, Mohammad Zahid, was arrested by the Nuh Cyber Police for allegedly posing as an Army officer on social media to defraud unsuspecting individuals. Zahid, a resident of Tyra village in Deeg district, was detained near the ITI in Maroda village after the police conducted an investigation into a suspicious case flagged on the Police Pratimb portal.

The accused created fake social media profiles portraying himself as an Army officer and successfully deceived several people, including an individual from Kerala. Following this, the cyber police traced the flagged phone number, leading to Zahid’s arrest.

During the operation, the police seized three mobile phones, six SIM cards, and counterfeit photographs showing Zahid dressed as an Army officer. Preliminary findings suggest Zahid might be a part of a larger cyber fraud operation, and authorities are continuing their investigation. A formal FIR has been lodged against him.
