Jammu Police have successfully solved the high-profile robbery at Anand Jewelers in Greater Kailash, Fowara Chowk, Jammu, arresting key culprits behind the daylight heist that shook the community.
On February 1, two armed robbers stormed the gold shop during noon and threatened the lone woman owner with a sharp-edged weapon known as a “Toka,” inducing fear and coercing her to hand over valuable gold, cash, and a Vivo V20 mobile phone (SIM No. 9906015489).
Following the incident, the police registered a case under FIR No. 19/25 at PS Gangyal and launched an intense investigation. The SSP Jammu constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under SP City South and SDPO City South.
The investigation led to the arrest of the main conspirator, Rahul Sharma (Advocate), son of Shashi Sharma, resident of Lower Kanal near Grameen Bank, Bishnah. Two other accused involved in executing the robbery were also arrested:
Sunil Sharma (26), son of Romesh Chander, resident of Bhagani Rafta, PS Gharota, Tehsil Bhalwal, Jammu
Tushar Kumar (22), son of Late Sewa Ram, resident of Lower Canal, Bishnah
Preliminary interrogations revealed the robbery was inspired by a similar gold heist in Samaypur Badli, Delhi in 2023.
This case resolution underscores the professionalism and dedication of Jammu Police in fighting organized crime using intelligence and technology-driven investigation.
Authorities urge the public to remain alert, report suspicious activities, and enhance security measures, including installing CCTV cameras and keeping valuables securely locked.
