Police in New Delhi have arrested two absconding suspects in connection with a Rs5 lakh robbery, while also uncovering a separate illegal LPG refilling operation in the city.
The robbery case was solved by officers from Ranjit Nagar Police Station, who tracked down the accused after months of investigation. The incident dates back to November 15, 2025, when a complaint was received regarding a robbery near Shadipur Flyover. The victim reported that unidentified assailants had stolen around Rs5 lakh in cash along with a laptop from his car.
During the initial phase of the probe, police arrested one , Akash, while his accomplices—Rahul and Karandas—managed to evade capture. Through sustained surveillance, CCTV analysis, and technical tracking, Rahul was apprehended from Inderpuri on March 10, followed by the arrest of Karandas alias Fukka from the same area on March 15.
During interrogation, both accused admitted their involvement in the robbery and revealed that the stolen money had already been spent. Police further stated that Rahul has a history of criminal activity, with several previous cases registered against him. The investigation is ongoing to identify any additional links.
In a separate operation, Delhi Police uncovered an illegal LPG refilling racket amid a nationwide supply crunch. Officials from Vijay Vihar arrested Pushpendra for allegedly transferring gas from domestic cylinders into commercial ones to earn illegal profits.
The raid, conducted in Vijay Vihar Phase-1, led to the seizure of multiple filled cylinders, weighing machines, refilling pipes, and a Bajaj Discover motorcycle used for transportation.
Authorities have registered cases under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Essential Commodities Act. Further investigation is underway in both matters.
