The Bridgeport Police Department’s Homicide Unit has made a significant arrest in the 2020 murder of Nyair Nixon, who was fatally shot inside the Keystone nightclub on September 27, 2020.
Quinten McKoy, 33, of Bridgeport, was charged on Friday with Murder, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit in connection with the fatal shooting of Nixon, 21, who also lived in Bridgeport. McKoy, known by the street name “Quack,” was served the murder warrant while incarcerated on an unrelated case. Detective Thomas Harper of the Homicide Unit executed the arrest at Bridgeport Superior Court on Golden Street.
According to police, Nixon was shot in the torso during the early hours of the morning inside the Keystone nightclub after a dispute. Nixon managed to stumble out of the club and collapse at the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Bishop Avenue. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Investigators initially charged Charles Young in connection with Nixon’s murder, but ongoing investigations and new evidence have now led to McKoy being charged. Authorities revealed that McKoy and Young were seen together inside the nightclub and left together after the shooting.
The investigation is still active, with the Bridgeport Office of the State’s Attorney and the Homicide Unit continuing to gather evidence.
