Quashaad James Sentenced for Perjury in Shaquille Love Murder Case

Bristol Township man jailed for false testimony to grand jury

by Sophia Bennett

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. — Quashaad Rodney James, 29, pleaded guilty and was sentenced for perjury and false swearing related to the Grand Jury investigation into the December 2020 murder of Shaquille Love.

The plea was entered via video conference before Common Pleas Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. Judge Bateman sentenced James, a resident of Bristol Township, to 1½ to six years in state prison, along with two years of probation to run concurrently. The prison term will commence following his parole from a separate 20 to 40-year sentence he is currently serving for an unrelated Philadelphia case.

James’ charges stem from providing false testimony under oath during the Grand Jury proceedings, wherein he wrongfully identified another individual as responsible for the murder. Bucks County detectives later confirmed the accused person had no involvement in the crime.

Deputy District Attorney Brittney M. Kern stressed at sentencing that James’ false testimony seriously hindered the homicide investigation and unjustly implicated an innocent person.
