MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven man was arrested on March 3 at a Milford hotel following a domestic violence incident that also led to a major drug seizure, police reported.
Domestic Violence & False Identity
Officers responded to a domestic violence complaint at a Milford hotel, where they arrested 35-year-old Quaneil Brooks. According to police, Brooks had threatened and physically abused the victim multiple times before officers intervened.
During his arrest, Brooks provided a false name, attempting to use his brother’s identity to mislead authorities.
Large Narcotics Seizure
While searching Brooks’ belongings, police discovered a black bag containing large quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
Charges & Outstanding Warrants
Brooks was arrested and charged with:
Threatening
Disorderly conduct
Risk of injury
Criminal impersonation
Interfering with an officer
Possession of narcotics
Possession with intent to sell
In addition to these charges, Brooks had four outstanding PRAWN warrants for failing to appear in court, totaling $310,000 in bond.
Court Appearance & Custody
He was initially held on a $2,500 bond, arraigned on March 5, and later transported to the Department of Corrections.
