Puttur Police Arrest Three Women for Theft, Recover Gold Jewellery

Three women arrested with Rs1.02 lakh worth of stolen gold jewellery

In a significant arrest, Puttur Town Police on Friday apprehended three women on charges of theft and recovered stolen gold jewellery worth Rs1.02 lakh from their possession.

The arrested women, Jyothi and Shreemathi, both residents of Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, were taken into custody after a complaint was filed by Saraswathi, a resident of Golthamajalu, on Thursday. Saraswathi reported that her handbag was stolen at the Puttur KSRTC Bus Stand, with gold jewellery worth Rs25,000 taken from it.

Upon investigation, the police successfully traced the accused and recovered the stolen jewellery from their possession. Further investigation is underway, with authorities working to determine if the arrested women were involved in other thefts.

The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by Puttur Town Police to combat theft and ensure the safety of the public.
